Acupuncture is widely accepted as an effective treatment for pain relief.
The use of acupuncture releases certain pain relieving chemicals in the body. There are also very few side effects (if any!). Acupuncture is utilised on the NHS and in pain clinics. There are many acute conditions (plantar fasciitis, sciatica, tension headaches etc) that once treated, the patient should remain pain free. For more chronic conditions (knee osteoarthritis, migraines, arthritis, prostatitis etc) patients should be able to have a short course of treatment to get pain levels to a manageable level and maintain with a monthly ‘top up’.
It’s always worth contacting me for a chat prior to booking if you’re unsure of whether acupuncture would be of benefit.
